Two former Corrie stars will be guests of honour at this year’s annual Festival of Lights switch on at Beechwood Cancer Care Centre.
The event, on Monday 5th December from 7pm-8pm, at the Beechwood garden on Chelford Grove, will this year be hosted by patrons of Beechwood and former Coronation Street stars Lee Boardman and Jennifer James.
Fundraising manager, Angela Gray, said: “This is an emotional and inspiring evening and we are delighted that Lee and Jenny will be switching on the lights this year. Thousands of lights will shine in memory of lost loved ones.”
Candle bags can be purchased in advance to place around Beechwood’s tree, to ‘Light a Life’ along with a light to hang on the tree, as a dedication for someone special or in memory of a loved one no longer here.
All names will be recorded on Beechwood’s Scroll of Honour and displayed in the centre. They will also be read out in the Christmas Carol and Dedication Service at St Mary’s in the Market Place, Stockport on Monday, December 12, at 7pm, where there will also be music from Affinity and Beechwood choirs.
And just a reminder – The Beechwood Christmas fair will be held on Saturday, November 26, between 10.30am and 12.30pm, at Beechwood headquarters and will include gifts, plants, toys, cards, a tombola, café and much more.
If you would like to ‘Light a life’ for someone this year, visit Beechwood’s website www.beechwoodcancercare.org.uk to fill out a dedication form or print out the above form and take it into headquarters.
