The Greater Manchester Business Board is inviting senior business professionals from across the city-region to join its Board to help guide the city-region’s future business ecosystem.
The Greater Manchester Business Board is the evolution of the city-region’s Local Enterprise Partnership as it becomes more fully integrated into the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) to become a strong business voice within local government to help shape and maximise growth across all ten boroughs using the insight, experience and expertise of the private sector. This is set to become particularly important follow the city-region’s ‘trailblazer’ devolution deal, which expands GMCA’s powers over post-16 education, transport and other areas.
In light of the growing role for the Greater Manchester Business Board, the organisation is now looking for additional board members to sit alongside Chair Loui Cordwell OBE to help shape its future. Board members will bring their senior business experience and insights to help address the region’s needs through the Greater Manchester Strategy, GM Economic Vision and GM Local Industrial Strategy.
The Board is looking for new members who will reflect the diversity of Greater Manchester’s residents and its business sectors and is particularly keen to expand representation of key growth sectors identified in the city-region’s Local Industrial Strategy: these include Advanced Manufacturing and Materials, Health Innovation and Digital.
Board members will be required to contribute one to two days per month to the GM Business Board including meeting in person once every two months.
