Stockport County FC has announced it has partnered with global AV solutions group ADI on a massive new digital platform for the club’s Edgeley Park stadium.
The multi-screen platform includes an 81m2 LED screen and a brand new digital perimeter system, stretching around all four sides of the pitch. Additionally, a new digital ribbon is being installed on the exterior of the stadium’s premium hospitality suite, The Porsche Lounge, which will be used to promote the partnership.
Once installed, Edgeley Park will boast the largest stadium screen in League One next season, and one of the largest digital platforms in the EFL as a whole. All of the screens will be connected to ADI’s Live Venue broadcast fibre network, enabling ADI to create and manage content across each digital asset remotely from their production galleries at their Preston HQ.
The upgrade is part of a broader improvement plan for Edgeley Park, which has followed extensive consultation with fans and the local community and will see the stadium expand capacity and facilities in line with the on-pitch success.
Work on the new digital platform will begin in the coming weeks. Initially, ADI will install a temporary system at Edgeley Park while the 4-sided perimeter system is manufactured to specification. This will allow us to promote club partners from the start of the new season, with the installation to be completed later in 2024.
Stockport County’s Chief Operating Officer, Tom Mahon said:
“Following the Club’s success in recent seasons, Edgeley Park is currently undergoing significant upgrades; in the modern stadium, digital is an important part of the matchday experience.
“ADI haven’t just offered us hardware, they have provided a complete solution. Having defined the different technology opportunities, they helped us to map out a complete commercial offering that will ensure we will create value and generate income across the platform. This is a similar model that has been proven in other EFL clubs, so we have complete confidence in our commercial team to be able to deliver it.
“We pride ourselves as a community Club and we’re excited that the new platform will improve the matchday experience for our fans as well as providing opportunities for businesses within the local area to associate themselves with the Club’s continued success.”
As part of the deal, ADI will also be recognised as Stockport County’s Official LED Display Partner.
Claire Fitzgerald-Firth, Head of Engagement & Client Services at ADI, said:
“The new installation at Edgeley Park with give Stockport County one of the biggest and best platforms across the EFL, not just League One. This is just the beginning though; we’re looking forward to working with the Club to help them make the most of it throughout the coming seasons.”
