Developer, Amstone Ventures, has announced that Keady Construction has been named as the contractor on the 588-home No.1 Knightsbridge development on the former Sainsbury’s supermarket site in Stockport town centre.
The development secured outline planning approval in November 2022, and will be one of the first sites to see work begin within the Town Centre East regeneration area following the expansion of the area within the Stockport Mayoral Development Corporation’s remit.
Work on the project is set to set start on site in early 2027, and be delivered in phases to complete by the end of the decade.

The scheme will deliver 588 apartments across three residential blocks, ranging from five to 15 storeys, with basement parking. The new neighbourhood will also open up the River Mersey frontage to the public.
Adnan Siddiqi, director at Amstone Ventures said:
“We were attracted to Keady Construction due to their significant experience in the residential sector and their philosophy on design and the environment.
“They’ve recently completed 31-storey tower comprising 399 high quality PRS apartments on Skinner Street in Leeds, which perfectly places them to move quickly onto our Stockport site, bringing that experience with them.
Kieran Dougan, director at Keady Construction, added:
“No.1 Knightsbridge is a great opportunity for us to continue our work on landmark residential projects in the north of England. Having just completed a major private rented sector project in Leeds for Ridgeback group,
“I’m excited to add Amstone to our roster of clients which also includes Peel Holdings and L&G.”
