
Booking has opened for Stockport businesses looking to reduce their environmental impact to attend the first Climate Action Business Forum event of 2024.
The next Forum will take place at Williams BMW and online via Microsoft Teams on Wednesday 31st January 2024 from 8am to 10am.
The quarterly event, organised by Stockport Council’s Climate Action Now team, aims to support Stockport-based businesses on their journey to achieving net zero. It aims to take businesses beyond the initial stage of understanding climate change, towards actively addressing and implementing change within their organisations. The forum is open to all businesses and sectors, creating an opportunity for those that are interested in making a difference to share best practice and access support from organisations such as the Business Growth Hub and Carbon Literacy Project.
The January meeting will consider transport and looking ahead to 2024. Attendees will hear from Williams BMW, the Energy Savings Trust, Datesand before rounding off the event with an action planning workshop to set sustainability goals for 2024. The agenda for the event is as follows:

- Understanding electric vehicles and EV myth busting – Fiona Appleton, Energy Savings Trust
- Transitioning to electric as a business – James Vipond, Williams BMW
- Engaging colleagues with active travel, commuting and reducing transport emissions – Stephen Barlow, Datesand
- Workshop: setting 3 sustainability goals for 2024
The event is free to attend, and places can be booked via Eventbrite.
