In a major milestone to the story of Stockport-based C&C, Miles Cooke has officially joined the business, becoming the third generation of the Cooke family to join the insurance brokers.
C&C was co-founded in 1975 by Pete Cooke. Malcolm Cooke followed in 1984, later becoming MD, and now Miles (pictured), having just celebrated his 21st birthday, is bringing fresh energy and a new chapter to the firm.
To get a real feel for every corner of the business, Miles will be spending time across a number of departments. His journey begins with C&C’s Claims Handling Team at Stockport HQ, under the expert guidance of Steve Lockey and Joe Fay – a brilliant grounding for understanding how we support clients when it matters most.
Just a month in, Miles is already making an impression. Whether he’s interpreting policies or tackling claims challenges, he’s showing the same composure you’d expect from an off-piste ski instructor and former Sale Sharks Academy player: someone used to fast thinking, tough conditions and the occasional unexpected turn.
C&C’s MD, Malcolm Cooke reflected:
“I only planned to help out for a few weeks back in the day. Phones had wires, computers were sci-fi, and ‘I Want To Break Free’ was in the charts. I’m glad I stayed, and welcoming Miles now is a moment of huge pride. Tech and music change, but our client-focused values don’t. They remain the heart of C&C, something Miles has grown up watching.”
Miles Cooke added:
“It’s a bit surreal having your dad as your boss, but I’m loving it. Seeing how the Claims Team operates and how much clients rely on us is eye-opening. I’m really enjoying contributing and having the chance to help make a difference.”
