Following on from the success of last year’s Stockport inaugural Enduro, Cycling Festival and 5K running race, the town centre will once again come alive with road races, cycle racing and fun activities for all the family at StockSport 2022.
Having attracted huge numbers of visitors and competitors to last summer’s event, local businesses have been eager to associate their brand with StockSport through sponsorship, including TREK Wilmslow, Edgeley Park, musicMagpie and Ridge and with support from event partners Crazy Legs, British Cycling, Totally Stockport and Stockport Council.
StockSport’s event organisers have some exciting partnership opportunities for local businesses who are key to its success. A range of support and sponsorship packages are available to suit any budget – just by entering a running team, an organisation/company can get involved and show their support – great for team building too! Sponsors can look forward to wide brand exposure across many platforms: inclusion in the marketing and promotional activity – both online and offline; feature in posts on event organiser, fellow sponsor, partner’s social media channels; on marketing collateral and promotional materials – at the event and across our many partner organisations. Sponsorship of StockSport, a wholly inclusive event, also aligns a company’s brand with its Corporate Social Responsibility aims and objectives. All who take part will be entered into a prize draw to win a special prize.
Councillor Elise Wilson, Leader of Stockport Council said:
“This event is about much more than health and fitness. It is about all ages coming together as a community. Making friends. Having a laugh. Feeling part of a town that shares your ambition for it to be a world-class place in which to spend time and have fun. So, I hope as many people as possible attend and showcase what Stockport really is all about: it’s fantastic community.”
Ted Gordon, Manager of Trek Bicycle Store Wilmslow and sponsor of the Criterium races said:
“At Trek, our main goal is to get more people riding bikes. We are excited to be part of this fantastic event in Stockport which will grow the cycling community. Town Centre races are always full of excitement and we can’t wait to be involved and help create the best experience possible.”
In the run up to the event, on the Saturday June 25, Cheshire Cycling Clubs friendly and knowledgeable volunteers will be hosting led-bike rides on a scenic ride from the town centre out into the rural areas of the borough. The Club will host a variety of different rides of varying distance to suit all abilities, hopefully encouraging as many people as possible to get on their bikes.
