Stockport’s Bramall Hall is among 130 cultural venues, museums, and libraries receiving a share of nearly £130 million from the government Arts Everywhere Fund.
The £1.5 billion Arts Everywhere Fund looks to support more than 1,000 arts venues, museums, libraries and heritage buildings across England. The first £127.8 million of funding has been delivered by Arts Council England on behalf of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
Support has been distributed across three funds: the Creative Foundations Fund (CFF), the Libraries Improvement Fund (LIF), and the Museum Estate and Development Fund (MEND).
Bramall Hall in Stockport has been awarded £1 million in support from the MEND Fund in this latest funding round.
The historic building secured one of the largest funding awards of any cultural venue across the North West, behind only The Lowry Centre Trust (awarded £8.5 million from the CFF), and the People’s History Museum in Manchester city centre (awarded £2.49 million from the MEND fund).
Arts Council England Chair Sir Nicholas Serota said:
“Arts organisations, museums and libraries are the beating heart of our communities.
“After significant financial pressures in recent years, this vital investment will help organisations to secure futures where they thrive and not just survive.
“We look forward to seeing these cultural spaces flourish as they continue to provide access to excellent art and culture for everyone, everywhere, for many years to come.”
The next rounds of these funds will open for applications in the coming months.
