Alextra Accountants joins Azets Group

UK accountancy and business advisory firm, Azets, has further strengthened its presence in the North West with the acquisition of Alextra Accountants.

The deal adds 70 colleagues and three offices to the group, adding sites in Stoke-on-Trent, Crewe and Warrington to its other locations in the region, including Stockport.

All staff from Alextra’s three offices will join Azets following the deal, with the exception of Alextra’s Wealth Management team, which remains as a separate independent business.

The acquisition represents an expansion into the corridor between Birmingham and Manchester for Azets, which has 4,000 people working across more than 70 offices in the UK, and strengthens its presence in the North West ahead of further investment, and recruitment in the area. 

Colleagues at Alextra will benefit from Azets’ investment in people, technology and infrastructure – creating new opportunities for development and enabling even stronger service delivery for clients.  

Alextra’s senior management team will remain in place following the deal, with Director Mathew Weaver becoming Office Managing Partner for Stoke-on-Trent, Crewe and Warrington. The firm will rebrand as Azets and clients will benefit from access to a wider range of specialist advisory services and a sizable contact network.

The transaction completed on 30 April. Legal advice was provided to Azets by Simon Procter, Emily Egan, Fatima Khan and Maria Foanta at Shoosmiths.
