Arc provides opportunities for people to create, connect and feel better. For over 25 years, we have delivered high impact creative programmes and services, helping adults, children and families to recover from mental ill-health, supporting them wherever they face a mental health challenge – in hospital, at home or at work. Our programmes are proven to build confidence and resilience and to bring people together.

One of the UK’s leading arts and mental health charities, based at Hat Works in Stockport town centre, we work across Greater Manchester to provide arts programmes and services to improve people’s mental wellbeing and public programmes.

From prevention initiatives to supporting those experiencing acute distress, we offer timely, structured, accessible and appropriate creative engagement at different stages of life. We also provide meaningful volunteering roles, especially to those with lived experience of mental ill health, and transform lives through opportunities to build skills, confidence and social connections.

“Since I started at Arc, I’m a different person. I’ve gone from being in a very dark place and feeling isolated to being part of a community and having new confidence!”

Our impact has been measured and valued by partners in health, social care and business for more than 25 years.

We reinforce the value of the arts for everyone, every day, in protecting and maintaining good health, wellbeing and resilience.

We create welcoming spaces – which are inclusive, friendly and non-judgemental, where people connect and feel they belong.

We are keen to develop relationships with local businesses, which help to support the health and wellbeing of your employees, sustain our charity and benefit both organisations.

We can work together to:

  • Enhance your Workplace Wellbeing through professional-led creative workshops
  • Support your volunteering programmes
  • Be your Charity of the Year!
  • Help you to achieve your Social Responsibility goals – sponsor a creative programme, donate to us, provide pro bono work, fundraise for us etc.
  • Offer training and support to creative and health sector employees

Benefits may include:

  • Boosting morale by helping staff to feel valued, to connect and build a sense of purpose
  • Exploring creative solutions to the issues and challenges of your business
  • Improving employee wellbeing
  • Encouraging employees to look after their mental health by taking some time out
  • Building pride in you as an employer
