There is a clear business case for the recruitment of young people: investing in young people supports long-term productivity and competitiveness in an ageing society, shaped by fast-paced technological change and an increasingly global market.
The British Chambers of Commerce has been hearing more and more from businesses about their concern for the deal that young people are getting, and they want to help. As Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, we want to try and facilitate this by hosting an event to bring together local businesses and ambassadors from the National Youth Agency.
The event will be chaired by Clive Memmott, Chief Executive of Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, and an expert panel of speakers including:
Elizabeth Harding – North West Regional Youth Work Unit
David Packwood – Consultant on behalf of Manchester City Council
Young people in our region need jobs – How can your business help?
