Hargreaves Contracting are expected to begin work in January 2023 on the redevelopment of Vauxhall Industrial Estate in Reddish, Place North West have revealed.
The online property publication confirmed that the Accrington-based business had been awarded a £15 million contract on the project from developer, Western UK Property Group. Work on the eight-acre industrial estate is set to begin this month and complete early in 2024.
Plans to demolish existing the existing warehouse and light industry units on the site were green-lit by Stockport Council last year, and will be replaced with 28 new Class B2/B8 units, split across six blocks and totalling over 200,000 sq ft.
Plans also include parking for around 175 vehicles, including 34 electric vehicle charging points and bike storage. Once occupied, the site could support around 700 jobs in easy reach of the M60, as well as helping to meet the undersupply of smaller industrial units in Greater Manchester.
The scheme will also help support the net-zero ambitions of future occupiers, with designs incorporating a mix of air-source heat pumps and gas-fired radiant tube heating for heating and cooling. Photovoltaic solar panels will also be installed on rooftops to generate green electricity on-site.
WUKPG were supported in the plans for the Reddish industrial estate by planning consultants SATPLAN, with designs by architects, C4 Projects, with Sixteen and DTRE appointed as letting agents.
