Robinsons Brewery have revealed that the Davenport Arms in Woodford, known locally as the Thief’s Neck, has been named a finalist for Pub of the Year at the upcoming Marketing Cheshire Tourism Awards 2026.
The Davenport Arms’ recognition as a finalist – among just three other Cheshire pubs – is a testament to the dedication of its team, the quality of its locally sourced food and drink, and its warm, welcoming atmosphere that has made it a much-loved destination for both its locals and new visitors.
From its unique race day events to its new event space, now home to weddings, birthdays, and celebrations, and an expansive beer garden overlooking Robinsons’ very own Shire horses, the Davenport Arms continues to evolve and innovate, offering something truly special to the village of Woodford.
Edward Bromley, Pub Partner of the Davenport Arms, said:
“We’re absolutely thrilled that the Davenport Arms has made it to the finals of such a prestigious award. It’s fantastic to see the dedication and passion of the team being recognised, along with the amazing support from our local community. We’re so proud to stand alongside them and can’t wait to celebrate with everyone on the awards night.”
The annual Marketing Cheshire Tourism Awards celebrate the very best in Cheshire’s thriving £3.9 billion visitor economy. Businesses from across the Cheshire and Warrington region compete across 18 categories, showcasing excellence in hospitality, tourism, and visitor experience. This year’s winners will be announced on 5th March 2026, at Walton Hall and Gardens.
