Drivers need to know how far an electric car can travel on one charge and which electric cars have the best range in the UK.
Electric cars are hugely important in delivering ambitious but necessary environmental targets to reduce CO2 emissions and electric car drivers need to be confident that they can reach their destination.
Phil Kehoe, director at Stockport based leasing cars, explains why Electric cars are more popular today than they have ever been
“An electric vehicle (EV) produces zero emissions and lets you travel in silence, not to mention the numerous financial benefits that come from road tax exemption, hugely reduced running costs compared to petrol or diesel alternatives and tax efficient/benefit in kind (BIK) for company car drivers.
“Electric car range is one of a modern driver’s biggest concerns when it comes to making the decision to switch to electric.
“How far an electric car can go on a single charge differs from make and model. Most electric cars now have substantial range to amply suit most people’s daily journeys. This means that they can be charged at home or at work through the day without significantly impacting on a driver’s routine.
“However, some drivers need to make longer journeys, more frequently and need to know which electric cars have the best range in the UK. If stopping to charge at a rapid charge point en route is not attainable, then there’s a number of longer range electric cars on the market which could suit a driver’s needs which can make range anxiety a thing of the past.
“Some manufacturers have developed apps so you can “test” your journey before you make the switch to electric. One example would be the Jaguar go i-pace app which tells you how may miles you have travelled, how many charges you would have made and the cost of the charges.
