A new project to celebrate the great and good of Stockport previewed at Stockport Art Gallery this week in front of a packed gallery. ‘We are Stockport’ is a creative, collaborative and content driven web based publishing platform designed to create a powerful narrative for the Borough.
Rachel Wallace, campaign manager wants as many as possible to join in:
“We need you. We need your stories, news of your events, news that we should be sharing because it highlights how great your town, your business, activity or organisation is. News that will interest the wider community because it’s unusual, ground-breaking, successful….news that helps promote Stockport as a great place to live and work.
“We need photos that define the town centre and district areas of Stockport. Images that celebrate your area.”
We are Stockport is set to go ‘live’ from the beginning of May and is looking to spread the word as quickly as possible and would like to attend as many local events as possible, whether that’s village fetes, festivals, carnivals or open days. They are hoping that people will tell them who and where they should be signposting, to make sure ‘We are Stockport’ provides comprehensive, inclusive and interesting information.
