Town centre office development, STOK, has announced that Biffa, one of the UK’s best-known waste management companies, is moving to the building.
Biffa, the UK leader in sustainable waste management, relocated its CCTV Control Centre to Stockport to allow its expanding team to better support its growing business.
The Control Centre aims to reduce accidents, enhance productivity and encourage safe and compliant behaviours. Regular reports then help local management and crews drive improvements.
Keith Bird, Biffa’s Head of Control Centre, said:
“We are excited to announce that the Control Centre is relocating to STOK due to our expanding operations.
“Initially, for stage one, the team are commencing live audits across our Industrial & Commercial business, which will cover approximately 700 additional vehicles, taking the total more than 1,500 vehicles.
“Furthermore, the team are actively exploring opportunities to further expand the Control Centre across the Biffa Group fleet and to provide consultancy-based services.
“This relocation to STOK will enable the expanding team to better support our growing business and further enhance our service offerings both internally and to the external market.”
Stockport has undergone a remarkable transformation in the past decade, with £1 billion to be invested in the town centre.
Chloe Ellerby, Project Director at STOK, added:
“Biffa will benefit from all STOK hub features allowing seamless integration into its new workspace including fully fitted and furnished workspace allowing flexibility to expand at any point during its 5-year term. STOK hub offers businesses a streamlined process with a set monthly bill which includes rent, service charges, building insurance, utilities, cleaning and internet provisions. Tenants based at STOK will benefit from high-quality amenities including Starbucks located on the ground floor, superfast WIFI throughout, tenant socials, shower facilities and bike storage.”
