Inscape Interiors has been appointed to install the washrooms on two major regeneration projects in Stockport town centre.
The Chorley-based company has been appointed by main contractor Willmott Dixon to deliver facilities at the new transport interchange and high-rise build-to-rent apartment scheme, both currently under construction on the site of the former Stockport Bus Station. Work on the site is set to complete in Spring 2024.
Galliford Try, lead contractors on 3 Stockport Exchange, has also appointed Inscape to supply and install washrooms at the latest phase of construction of 64,000 sq ft grade A office space at the Stockport Exchange business hub being brought forward by Stockport Council and Muse Developments.
Gary Wynne, managing director of Inscape Interiors, said:
“We’re thrilled to be playing our part in these two major projects which are helping to shape a bright future for Stockport, its residents and visitors.
“We will be manufacturing, supplying and installing the washrooms for these prestigious projects and we’re proud to have been trusted to deliver on behalf of major contractors like Willmott Dixon and Galliford Try.”
Both Stockport Interchange and Stockport Exchange are key projects within Stockport Council’s ambitious £1 billion town centre regeneration plans.
Stockport Interchange will see a modern bus interchange built on the site of the town’s former bus station, and also includes a two-acre rooftop park and 196 new homes, being brought forward by development partner, CityRise. A new cycle path and footbridge will also enhance connections with the railway station.
Stockport Exchange, next to Stockport Railway station is among the North-west’s most well connected business hubs. The hub features a hotel, ground floor retail units and Grade A office space, with the first two office buildings attracting major businesses such as BASF and musicMagpie to the town centre. 3 Stockport Exchange, currently under construction, will add a further 64,000 sq ft of commercial space to the £145 million development.
