Stockport Council is making it even easier for parents to find information about childcare services in the borough.
Families searching for childcare and information about other children’s services in Stockport should visit www.stockport.gov.uk/earlyyears
Choosing childcare is a big step for any family and now with all the information on one central website it couldn’t be easier to find.
The website enables families to search for childcare by location and type. There is also useful information about the free entitlement for two, three and four year olds, Sure Start Children’s Centres, school admissions information and application procedures. The site also contains links to other useful information for families.
Families without internet access can visit their local library for free internet access or visit their local Council run Sure Start Children’s Centre to find out more.
Councillor Wendy Meikle, Stockport Council’s Executive Member for Children and Young people, said:
“This newly launched webpage will allow families to find information about childcare at the click of a button. We wanted to make it as easy as possible for families to find good quality childcare, early education places and take up the Free Early Learning Hours that they are entitled to. Currently an eligible two year old child and every 3 and 4 year old child are entitled to up to 15 hours free early learning per week. We don’t want any Stockport family to miss out on their funded place which will also help them reach their full potential, giving them stability and helping them to have the best possible start.”
