Photographs of the local area have been flooding in for Vernon Building Society’s calendar competition which has attracted some really stunning images.
The local mortgage lender has received over 200 entries featuring scenes across Stockport and the surrounding areas including the town centre, Lyme Park, Bramhall, Marple and the Goyt Valley.
There is still plenty of time to get your entries in. The photographs that have been submitted so far can be viewed on the Vernon’s Flickr group at https://www.flickr.com/groups/vbscalendarcompetition2014/

The Vernon are looking for the best photographs of Stockport and the surrounding areas to feature in its 2015 calendar which will be sold through its branches to raise money for their Jubilee Fund. The fund supports local charity and community groups and has donated over £30,000 of funding since 2012.
The Vernon’s Chief Executive, Mike Hanson said:
“We’ve enjoyed seeing the variety of photographs that have been submitted to the competition which have showcased the scenery and landmarks we have in the local area – I think picking just 12 for the calendar is going to be really difficult. If you have some great photographs of the local area that you’ve taken please do send your entry in to be considered.”
For more information, including details of how to enter, visit the Society’s website at http://www.thevernon.co.uk/vernon_local_stockport_calendar_photography_competition.
The closing date for entries is 30th September 2014.
