Last year Vernon Building Society’s Jubilee Fund awarded £10,000 to local community and charity groups.
To benefit further causes, staff from the Vernon are now busy raising money for the 2013 Jubilee Fund. Staff at Reddish, Marple and St Petersgate branches are all holding raffles with Easter themed prizes up for grabs whilst their Bramhall and Poynton branches are holding a raffle to win a signed Manchester City football shirt!
Tickets for these raffles are available from the relevant Vernon Building Society branches for just £1.
Mike Hanson, Chief Executive of the Vernon, said:
“We were really pleased by the response we had to our Jubilee Fund last year, it was truly heartwarming to hear about the good work that is going on throughout the local area. This year we wanted to give our staff the opportunity to be involved in fundraising for the Jubilee Fund and so far they’ve had some great ideas which are already having an impact on the amount we can donate to those in need.”
The Vernon is also encouraging its members to vote at their forthcoming Annual General Meeting by donating 50p to the Jubilee Fund for every vote received. The Jubilee Fund will be open for applications for funding from local charitable and community causes in summer 2013. More information will be available at www.thevernon.co.uk in due course or local community groups/charities can register their interest by emailing jubileefund@thevernon.co.uk
