Vernon Building Society has raised over £1,500 for local charities Stockport Foodbank and the Furniture Station, both based in Hazel Grove.
The Society raised this money through its big band and swing night featuring performances by the Vernon Building Society (Poynton) Brass Band and Wilmslow’s ‘King of Swing’ Alan Burton.
The event was a great success with over 300 attendees enjoying the musical performance. All proceeds from ticket sales and refreshments on the night went to the two charities.
Nigel Tedford, Project Manager at Stockport Foodbank said:
“We would like to thank everyone involved in the evening – the band, Alan Burton, Vernon Building Society and those who attended the concert. The contributions will make such a difference to the Foodbank as we move into the autumn and winter months when we see an increase in the demand for our services.”
