Stockport’s Vernon Building Society has launched a comprehensive financial advice service for its members in partnership with a leading national independent financial advice provider.
The Vernon’s Wren Sterling adviser Stephen Bracegirdle is able to offer advice on a range of needs including pensions, investments and life insurance.
Ian Keeling, Director of Sales and Marketing at the Vernon, said
“Wren Sterling are well established and experienced in working with the building society sector. They can recommend products from the whole of the market to meet the needs of our customers.
“Our members are diverse and we expect that most can benefit from financial advice whatever their stage in life. Research suggests that many find financial advice inaccessible and expensive – our relationship with Wren Sterling challenges this by enabling our customers to book an appointment with an adviser at their local branch for a full review of their financial needs.”
Colin Hall from Wren Sterling commented
“Wren Sterling’s partnership with the Vernon is our eleventh in the building society sector. Through our experience, we have a deep understanding of what Building Society members are looking for from a financial adviser and choice is at the heart of our offering. Our independence means we can recommend products from multiple providers, which gives our clients peace of mind that they’re receiving advice tailored to their unique situation.
“As always, the first meeting is at our expense with no obligation to proceed.”
Founded in 1924 in Stockport, Cheshire, the Vernon is an independent, mutual building society. We seek to provide competitive mortgages, savings and investment products and to be a trusted source of reliable financial advice within the local community.
In 2012, the Vernon launched their Jubilee Fund which has since awarded over £60,000 of much needed funding to charities and community groups that benefit the Stockport area.
