Stockport building society The Vernon got into the Christmas spirit to raise money for Macmillan! Staff from Stockport’s Vernon Building Society raised £607.52 for Macmillan Cancer Support with the help of the Vernon Building Society (Poynton) Brass Band who played a selection of festive tunes to Christmas shoppers in Merseyway.
Amy Lewis, Macmillan’s Fundraising Manager for Stockport, said:
“It’s fantastic to see local businesses like the Vernon Building Society, supporting Macmillan, and what a wonderfully festive way to do so. This will go a long way to helping us make sure that no-one in Stockport faces cancer alone.”
The Vernon previously raised £261.59 for Macmillan earlier in the year as part of their annual World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. The Society also celebrates 25 years of partnership with the brass band this year, a milestone commemorated with a special edition badge.
