Local building society the Vernon is hosting a big band concert to benefit Stockport Foodbank and the Furniture Station, both in Hazel Grove.
The Big Band and Swing Night will feature the championship standard Vernon Building Society (Poynton) Brass Band and Wilmslow’s ‘King of Swing’ Alan Burton performing a variety of swing and big band favourites.
There’s still time to get tickets for the event which is being held on Friday 3rd October 2014 from 7:30pm at Hazel Grove Baptist Church, Station Road, Hazel Grove. Tickets are available in advance from the Church or any local Vernon branch for just £5, all of which will go to the two local charities. They can also be purchased on the door at the event.
The Vernon’s Marketing Co-ordinator, Lucy Turnbull, who arranged this event said:
“The Big Band and Swing Night promises to be a great event in the local community for two really good causes. Alan is a fantastic performer and with the band will really bring the theme of the night to life –anyone who likes music from Sinatra, Dean Martin or Michael Bublé won’t want to miss this event!”
