Vernon Building Society held a competition for its young savers to show what the Society’s mascot, Vernon Bear, got up to over summer. Savers were asked to send the Society a photograph of Vernon Bear enjoying his summer holidays using their Vernon Bear moneyboxes that are given free with new accounts.
There were over 60 entries to the competition showing Vernon Bear as far afield as Spain, Brazil and Abu Dhabi. Vernon also went to a festival, visited some of the UK’s many tourist attractions and even got to go in the cockpit of a passenger plane!
Head of Sales and Marketing, Ian Keeling, said:
“We were impressed with Chloë’s entry as it showed that she had really put thought, effort and planning into her photograph. The competition entries were of a really high standard so choosing just one winner was extremely difficult – Vernon Bear has been all over the world this summer!”
The winner (above) of the Wii U console prize was 12 year old Chloë Clayton from Hazel Grove for her photograph of Vernon Bear at the Harry Potter Studio Tour in London.
