One of the UK’s most prominent PR gurus, Isabel Spearman, is joining UK charity Smart Works as an Ambassador.
Smart Works is a UK charity that provides high quality interview clothes, styling advice and interview training to women in need.
Starting from one location in London, the charity has built upon its success to take the service to more women across the UK. Smart Works opened a second centre in London in November 2013 and has since set up branches in Edinburgh, Manchester and Reading in 2015 and Birmingham in 2016.
Isabel worked as PR Director for the British accessories brand Anya Hindmarch for 8 years before becoming Special Adviser to Samantha Cameron from 2010 to 2015 covering 2 General Elections.
Isabel now runs her brand and image consultancy, Spearman Consulting. Having worked closely with Smart Works during her time at Downing Street, she is a passionate supporter of the charity.
Isabel said on her appointment, “I love the simplicity of what Smart Works does; helping women regain their confidence through their image. It is brilliantly effective and the women that walk into a dressing and mentoring session are completely different to the women that walk out”.
Juliet Hughes-Hallett chair of the charity said, “We are delighted to welcome Isabel to the Smart Works family in her role as our first Ambassador. We are hugely grateful for the time, experience and expertise that Isobel brings to the role. Her passion for our work and our clients is obvious and we are plotting some fantastic projects to work together on.”
The charity’s service delivery is done by highly skilled, trained volunteers who dedicate their time to helping clients succeed. Their reward is seeing the impact of unlocking a woman’s confidence, and finding out that she has gone on to succeed at interview and move on with her life.
