UK POINT OF SALE OFFICIALLY LAUNCHES IN BREDBURY

Yesterday saw the official opening ceremony of the new 47,000 sq ft office and manufacturing facility of UK Point of Sale Group Ltd (UKPOS) at Bredbury Park Industrial Estate in Stockport.

The business, which also celebrates its twenty-fifth anniversary later this year, is a leading designer and manufacturer of point of sale display products for retailers.

Stockport Mayor, Councillor Chris Murphy and Mayoress Mrs Dot Murphy cut the ribbon to officially open the premises, before enjoying a tour around the new facility. They were joined by friends and family of UKPOS employees and fellow residents of Bredbury Park.

Jason Leslie said:

“We have carried out extensive planning and preparation to ensure that the move from one premises to the other has run seamlessly and we’re delighted that everything has gone so smoothly. With our business growing year-on-year we had outgrown our previous headquarters and needed a much larger space to expand our manufacturing capabilities as well as our growing workforce.

“We’d like to say a big  thank you to the Mayor and Mayoress of Stockport for officially opening our new home, as well as all of our employees as we couldn’t have done it without their support and help.”

The Mayor of Stockport Councillor Chris Murphy said:

“I was honoured to be asked to officially open the new UKPOS headquarters and I hope they settle into their new home very quickly. It makes me proud to see a Stockport-based company expand and grow consistently over the 25 years it has been open. By continually providing employment in the district, as well as manufacturing products in the UK, the company contributes a huge amount to our regional economy.”

The move incorporates brand new machinery, a larger warehouse and an increase in staffing levels to allow the business to improve its manufacturing processes and fulfil next day delivery pledges on more than 3,000 product lines. The move will enable UKPOS to increase its employee headcount from 50 to 72, with plans to recruit further employees in sales, warehousing and distribution over the next six months.

The family business was launched by Bill Leslie and son Jason Leslie in 1989, and is now headed up by brother and sister Jason Leslie and Debra Jamieson.

UKPOS is a manufacturer and supplier of point of sale products such as Acrylic & PVC Sign Print & Menu Holders, Snap Frames and Leaflet Dispensers and works with some of the UK’s leading retail brands including the UK’S top four supermarkets.
