NK were shortlisted for 9 awards and came away with two gongs! As well as winning “Best Ensemble Piece” for the Finale in Footloose, for the third year running they also came away with the special Adjudicator’s award, given as seen fit by the adjudicator who visited 17 different performances throughout the year.
Normally given to individuals, the Adjudicator’s award was given to NK Theatre Arts as a whole for all of the work undertaken behind the scenes by the Charity, including the work done in the community and the development of children and young people through the arts.
The award was accepted by Kerry Day who is the Artistic Director for NK:
“It was absolutely thrilling to win this award as a whole organisation. NK is very much about the people and the work we do every day at the Forum which culminate in the shows and events we put on throughout the year. To be recognised for the work we do with our children, young people and adults and of course the wider community through our outreach programme was very unexpected as these events tend to focus solely on the productions seen throughout the year, so everyone was extremely proud and delighted to receive such special commendation from the Manchester Musical Awards for our entire organisation”
