Three of Stockport’s finest independent retailers are shortlisted for Stockport’s Retailer of the Year.
Shortlisted for Stockport Business Awards retailer of the year, sponsored by Marketing Stockport, are Chambers Skateshop, Heaton Hops and Rhode Island Coffee.
The awards, set up and organised by local accountancy practice Clarke Nicklin, are now celebrating their 5th year and each year they recognise the boroughs best businesses.
Chambers Skateshop is based just off Underbank in Stockport and sells a large selection of skateboard hardware and clothing from UK and US brands.
They also use the shop as a free art exhibition for Greater Manchester based artists to promote their work. Chambers also organise events for young people to come to the shop and enjoy a mix of music and art, with the aim of encouraging them to get into skateboarding.
Heaton Hops is a tap house and bottle shop voted ‘Best Pub 2015’ in the Manchester Evening News CityLife Awards.
Heaton Hops promote and sell beer produced by local microbreweries; be it cask, keg or bottle either to drink in or take away. They are passionate about beer and believe in every beer they sell, the quality of beer on offer is what has led to a very successful first year of trading.
Rhode Island Coffee in Stockport prides itself on being much more than just a Coffee Shop.
With the standards of a professional coffee chain and the spirit of an independent coffee shop, they have created a warm, friendly, safe and modern ‘home from home’, in the heart of the community. The operation is focussed on customer service and four principles – Community, Quality, Innovation and Fun.
The winner will be announced at the ceremony which takes place on 13th October at Stockport Town Hall.
The Stockport Business Awards is an event set up for businesses by businesses. It is organised by accountancy practice Clarke Nicklin, and headline sponsors are high profile businesses from the region; Gorvins Solicitors, Orbit Developments and NatWest.
