STOCKPORT College is delighted with its students as it has achieved 98.4 per cent pass rate for A levels, once again performing above the national average pass rate. The College’s results day became the focus of national interest when cameras from BBC visited to film students opening their results during live pieces to camera on BBC Breakfast.
Year on year the results are well above the national average and this year’s 98.4 per cent pass rate is a true testament to the hard work that has been put in by both the students and teachers.
These results will give the students a real advantage
when they move to Higher Education or Employment
with many students continuing at the Stockport College
University Centre, where places are still available. The
University Centre offers are more affordable option for
higher education programmes such as a degree, HND
and HNC
Josette Bennett, Assistant Principal Science, Engineering and General Education, said:
“We are delighted with the achievement of our students. This is a true testament to the hard work that has been put in by both the students and teachers. Students have excelled in all areas of study, arming themselves with the qualifications and skills they need to progress on to university, employment or further training.”

The college stated that the results are great news for their high
achievers at a time when universities have announced the
removal of the limit of places available to high grade students.

This year we have seen many examples of young people
achieving their best and being able to progress to the university of their choice through their commitment to succeed and the support of some fantastic tutors and the student advice team.”
