Financial services group, Together, has announced that it has exceeded its 2016 fundraising target by donating over £125,000 to charitable causes last year.
At the same time as announcing its 2016 record fundraising amount, Together has named two charities as its 2017 beneficiaries.
In 2016 £125,000 has been raised through a variety of initiatives including major sporting challenges, corporate events and weekly dress down days. It has supported a wide variety of charities including Children in Need, Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Seashell Trust, Once Upon a Smile, Destination Florida and St Ann’s Hospice.
Following the record-breaking year, Together has revealed that its two major campaigns for 2017, which will be a focus for its fundraising, are The Christie and Manchester MIND, following a colleague vote.
Kevin Fisher, HR director at Together, said: “Our ‘Let’s get giving’ charity group is part of our wider corporate responsibility framework and will enable us to raise even more for great causes in the year ahead. Our colleagues get really involved, so we wanted to let them have the final say on which would be our main campaigns, through a voting process.
“We’re really pleased to be supporting two local charities that do such great work, and we’ll be running a host of fundraising activities throughout the year. Of course, we will also continue to support many other charities through our weekly dress down days, and will be taking part in some additional national charity events.”
Together’s ‘Let’s get giving’ fundraising scheme sits within its ‘Let’s make it count’ initiative, which spans charity, community and the environment.
