Huge Queues gathered for the Grand Opening of New Superstore The Range Stockport
A UK Home, leisure and gardens retailer continues to grow as it throws opens the doors of its brand new superstore The Range Stockport.
Following months of anticipation, the work to transform the former Toys R Us at Peel Centre Trading Park into the newest branch of The Range is now complete and has been officially opened by Stockport’s Deputy Mayor, Councillor John Wright.
The new Stockport store has created 80 full and part-time jobs. It follows the opening of 12 other stores so far this year taking the total number of stores across the UK and Ireland to 174 as The Range continues to expand and grow.
The Range gave away prizes to the first 50 people in the queue including a star prize for the first in line as company mascot, Captain Range, welcomed the crowds and entertained the children.
Roger Wheeldon, Director of Development at Peel L&P, which owns and manages Stockport Retail Park, said:
“We are continuously improving the offer for our customers at Stockport Retail Park and we are pleased to welcome The Range to the mix. The superstore is testament to our philosophy and dedication to re-investing into our portfolio and brings the park back up to full occupancy”.
Devon based entrepreneur, the Owner and Founder of The Range, Chris Dawson commented:
“It was great to hear of so many people at the store opening this morning and we hope they all managed to find some fantastic bargains. Opening two stores today is an extremely proud moment for the company and we look forward to many more store openings this year as we continue to progress and grow.
“The staff have worked very hard to get the store ready for the opening this morning and I would like to thank the Council for welcoming us to Stockport”.
