STOCKPORT College is launching their own campaign called The Only Way is Apprenticeships to promote the importance of education and getting into work.
The College is backing the sixth annual National Apprenticeship Week, which runs from today 11th to the 15th March and celebrates Apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on individuals, businesses and the economy.
During the week the Apprenticeship team who are part of the business commercial department will be attending local schools and giving advice to young people at Stockport Town Hall.
Learner Liaison Officer Katie Sheridan said: “Young people face many obstacles in finding employment once they have left school or college, which is why we are committed to supporting apprenticeship programmes. Many careers have been kick-started by Apprenticeships.”
National Apprenticeship Week is co-ordinated by the National Apprenticeship Service and is designed to celebrate Apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on individuals and businesses.
Now in its sixth year, National Apprenticeship Week is the time when all eyes are on Apprenticeships and it’s all about raising the profile amongst employers, individuals, teachers, parents and the media.
Business advisor, Alex Barker said: “We have some first-rate Apprentices learning professional skills, and many of them often remain in employment with us.”
“This is a great opportunity for us to highlight and celebrate Apprenticeships. Stockport College has seen quite a few apprentices flourish as they move through the organisation, gaining valuable employability skills whilst they earn.
EARN WHILST YOU LEARN, Alex Barker, Katie Pinder and Katie Sheridan.
