Romiley’s Forum Theatre has revealed the line-up of shows and events coming to its stage this autumn and into the festive period.
From Wednesday 28th September, the Hollywood blockbuster LEGALLY BLONDE take to the stage with a wonderful cast, fantastic dancing and a brilliant set taking you back to the 2001 film. The show tells the story of Elle Woods, a sorority girl who enrols at Harvard Law School to win back her ex-boyfriend Warner. She discovers how her knowledge of the law can help others, and she successfully defends exercise queen Brooke Wyndham in a murder trial. Throughout the show, very few characters have faith in Elle, but she manages to surprise them when she defies expectations while staying true to herself. The musical runs from Wednesday 28th September through to Saturday 1st October at 7.30pm with an additional 2pm Saturday matinée.
The fantastic adult Halloween cabaret THE ROCK AND HORROR GRAVEYARD SHOW is back this October for two nights on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th October. Join Beetlejuice, Dracula, Frankenstein, together with some fantastic ghoulish dancers and all of the characters from The Rocky Horror Picture Show in this amazing rock show with live band, late bar and of course fancy dress encouraged.
In November, the Forum welcomes the star of Trigger Happy TV DOM JOLY to the stage with his Holiday Snaps comedy show and is very excited to have such a fantastic comedian live in Stockport.
There is classic drama too, as BILLY LIAR is performed on Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th November. This play, written by Keith Waterhouse’s was published in 1959, and captures brilliantly the claustrophobic atmosphere of a small town. It tells the story of Billy Fisher, a Yorkshire teenager unable to stop lying – especially to his three girlfriends. Trapped by his boring job and working-class parents, Billy finds that his only happiness lies in grand plans for his future and fantastical day-dreams of the fictional country Ambrosia.
