The Apprenticeships Store in Stockport town centre received a visit from Karen Woodward, director at National Apprenticeship Service.
Ms Woodward participated in the parents’ information evening as part of National Apprenticeships Week.
Ms Woodward said she was particularly impressed by the excellent facilities for employers in the form of meeting rooms, computer/projector access and support by staff in the Apprenticeships Store to write job descriptions, person specifications and to offer advice about apprenticeship frameworks and which training providers deliver them.
The Apprenticeships Store’s information to employers around the new apprenticeships levy was shared with Ms Woodward, along with other useful information about the Apprenticeships Store.
There were more than 40 parents who attended on the night and they were all extremely positive about the Apprenticeships Store and its staff.
Many stated it was useful to find expert, detailed information about a range of apprenticeship opportunities all in one place.
The Apprenticeships Store supports parents to understand the parity of esteem apprenticeships have as an alternative pathway to Further Education and Higher Education.
Many employers have stated that apprenticeships are an opportunity to train young people in the ways of working in their organisation from a young age and to develop their future workforce.
