
In the latest of a series of webinars, Transport for the North (TfN) have invited a panel of speakers to discuss the merits of an East-West high speed rail link in the North of England.
Dubbed Northern Powerhouse Rail, TfN have advocated for the East-West rail link, also referred to as HS3, to improve connectivity between Northern cities and drive economic growth in the region. In the latest #TfNTalks webinar series, a panel composed of a number of Northern leaders will discuss the benefits of pushing ahead with the high-speed rail link. Panel members announced include:

Northern Powerhouse Rail is a programme to deliver a transformed network in the North of England. TfN assert that it has the potential to be an economic catalyst for the region, delivering new jobs through higher capacity, faster and more reliable journeys. It is an investment in infrastructure that will deliver benefits to the economy, quality of life, education and the environment, closing the North-South gap in productivity.
The TfN webinar session will be held via Zoom video conferencing platform from 1pm to 2pm on Wednesday 22nd July. Those wishing to attend can register for a place on Eventbrite, where there will also be an opportunity to submit questions to the panel.
