A large digital and tech skills festival is bringing hundreds of career opportunities to job seekers, graduates and career changers in Greater Manchester this February.
Manchester’s Digital Skills Festival has been running the Talent Day for more than 10 years in the city centre, attracting around 2,000 attendees each year. This year’s event takes place on Wednesday, February 12 at the iconic New Century Hall and brings together the top leading tech and digital businesses across Greater Manchester and the North West.
Exhibitors include: Jaguar Land Rover, Atkinsréalis, Amazon, Starling Bank; Government Digital Services; Slalom, Hippo Digital, Capgemini and many more. The Talent Day sponsor, supporting pathways into tech, is Jaguar Land Rover, which is bringing a Defender OCTA to the venue to showcase the new model.
The event is part of a week-long Digital Skills Festival, organised by leading industry body Manchester Digital. The festival also includes Digital Her Day (Tuesday, February 11), which shines a spotlight on the vibrant diversity in Manchester’s fast-growing tech economy.
Digital Her Day: Driving Diversity offers an inclusive, interactive alternative to the traditional conference, featuring action-learning workshops, topic-focused panels, guest speakers, and meaningful networking opportunities.
Katie Gallagher OBE, managing director of Manchester Digital, said:
“Talent Day is our flagship event of the Digital Skills Festival, which always brings together the best leading tech companies in our region with those people looking to find out what a career in tech can offer.
“We strongly encourage people to come along and find out what kinds of jobs and apprenticeships are on offer in the tech industry, which can include roles such as software developer, user experience designer, project managers, data analyst and business analyst, cyber security analyst and much more. You don’t need a university degree to look for a career in tech, and there are often lots of businesses looking for people with a wide range of previous work experience.”
Talent Day is designed for students, graduates, apprentices, returners and career switchers to connect with a diverse range of companies through themed zones, workshops, CV clinics with one-to-one support and professional development opportunities.
With timed sessions throughout the day, attendees can meet exhibitors, attend seminars, and receive career advice. This event is ideal for businesses looking to recruit talent, add to their pipeline, or showcase their brand to Greater Manchester’s tech community.
The festival headline sponsor for the Digital Skills Festival is AtkinsRéalis and the ecosystem partners are Manchester City Council and GMCA.
