Digital connectivity is increasingly important tool in enabling individuals, businesses and organisations to both access and deliver services, but slow broadband speed and poor connectivity mean some businesses in the borough are finding it difficult to operate effectively online.
As part of an on-going review, Stockport Council is exploring which groups might be at the greatest risk of being unable to access the benefits of digital services, and are examining what the Council and others can do promote digital inclusion.
Businesses in Stockport are being invited to assist in the council’s review by completing a short online questionnaire “Business Broadband Survey”
Through this survey, SMBC hope to understand the extent of digital connectivity issues faced by businesses in Stockport; the council is keen to gauge awareness of current initiatives that are aimed at improving the borough’s digital infrastructure (delivering speeds of at least 23Mbps) and assisting businesses in making better use of digital services.
