New hires and promotions at Stockport based BTP Architects have grown the sustainability and conservation expertise at the practice.
Andy (Kwok) Wan joined BTP Architects just over a year ago, and has named him an Associate following recent successes on large affordable housing and conservation projects. He has a wealth of experience in large residential and commercial schemes and master planning in the UK and Asia, and was previously at Leach Rhodes Walker in Manchester, and is particularly interested in how architecture can help us live sustainably and minimise our impact on the natural environment.
Working with Andy in this is Brigita Urbonas, who joined BTP as an Architect in February 2022, after graduating from Manchester School of Architecture in 2017. Brigita is passionate about sustainability in architecture and brings with her experience in creating modular construction design for schools and special needs settings.
Terri-Anne Pinfield has also been appointed as an Architect. Starting in April 2022, she will developing her knowledge of conservation as part of BTP’s heritage portfolio. She has experience in residential architecture, having worked on a number of retrofit and new build projects. Terri-Anne qualified in 2021.
Hannah Graves and Jessica Ward have also joined the practice as Architectural Assistants.
Hannah joined BTP Architects in December 2021 following Part 1 architectural qualification at The University of Sheffield. Hannah has strong interests in conservation, social housing and adapting designs to accommodate social issues and existing visual identities.
Jessica started as a Part II assistant in June 2021 and has since been specialising in residential schemes and re-cladding high-rise tower blocks.
Finally, Josh Pearson has recently qualified as an architect, having passed his RIBA Advanced Diploma in Professional Practice in Architecture (Part 3).
Vicky Saunders, Managing Director at the award-winning practice, said:
“We’re delighted to have Andy, Brigita, Terri-Anne, Hannah, Jessica and Josh on board.
“The varied experience and passions of each of our new recruits, in particular in sustainability and conservation – two key challenges for the future of architecture – complement and add to BTP Architect’s existing skills so we can continue to deliver outstanding ideas and service to our clients.”
