Students from across the borough took part in Stockport Council’s Young Apprentice competition.
The event was held at Edgeley Park on Wednesday 21st November and gave pupils the chance to show their entrepreneurial and team working skills. 20 teams of gifted and talented students from secondary schools and colleges took part.
The students’ task was to design, cost and make a healthy lunch box for a specific audience from the items available on the day and to create a business plan and pitch it to members of the Council to persuade them to place orders for lunch.
The following organisations submitted entries for the event:
- Aquinas College
- Cheadle Hulme High School
- Harrytown Catholic High School
- Marple Hall School
- Priestnall School
- Reddish Vale Technology College
- St James’ Catholic High School

The competition was won by a team from Priestnall School with a design entitled ‘Team Mangé’. They were awarded the Young Apprentice trophy and £1,000 to spend on practical learning options at their school.
