Stockport Council has secured a grant for over £100k to improve the biodiversity and accessibility of woodland sites.
The Council has successfully bid for a Woodland Improvement Grant for £102,000. This grant will allow the Council to continue to improve the biodiversity and accessibility of the following five sites:
- Bramhall Park Woodland
- New Bridge Lane Woodland
- Vernon Road Woodland
- New House Farm Estate Woodland
- Kenilworth Road Woodland
The grant will be spent approximately 50% on woodland management including rhododendron removal, non-native species removal and general thinning operations to remove inappropriate species and improve the ground flora and fauna. The other 50% is for infrastructure improvements such as improving footpaths.
