The former Bruntwood Hall in Bruntwood Park has undergone a £3.5m revamp.
It will have 22 bedrooms and six suites as well as a restaurant, cocktail bar, private dining rooms and a spa.
It has previously been used as a town hall, a racehorse stud farm and was more recently home to a filming company.
Jonathan Slater, head of Oddfellows Hotels, said the original building’s integrity is key to the ‘feel and flow’ of the new hotel.
He said: ”We’ve always stuck to the idea of a restoration, rather than a conversion of this building.
“We fell in love with the original features and the fantastic room dimensions and we don’t want to change what is already, in our eyes, close to perfection.
“From the galleried staircase to the stained glass roof light high above reception to the original flooring in the bar and the amazing Jacobean-style ceilings throughout – we’ll restore and repair but we won’t replace or rip out.”
Oddfellows On The Park is due to open in summer 2016.
