Merseyway brought ‘Stockport Together’ with this year’s summer festival. Merseyway Shopping Centre, one of Greater Manchester’s most popular shopping centres, was thrilled to see Stockport come together for the fantastic 4 days of family fun during the summer festival that took place this weekend.
With so much on offer the annual Merseyway Summer Festival featured a whole host of fun filled events and activities. Visitors were able to enjoy fairground rides and street entertainment, grab a bite to eat or drink at the specialist food and drink stalls and browse the eclectic collections of the Teenage and Vintage market stalls. The glitz and glamour of the popular Merseyway fashion show brought in the crowds, along with the various beauty, fashion and fitness demonstrations conducted by local tenants.
There was live entertainment and music from some special guests in the form of The Mend, ReConnected and BeMinor who thrilled the crowds with their brilliant vocals supported by other acts which included Blank Cheque, Vicky Nolan, Debut Dancers and Henry Gallagher.

“It was fantastic to see such variety and diversity around Merseyway that brought in so many people both old and young as the summer festival proved to be more popular than ever. The excitement doesn’t stop here as we are already putting plans together for our next big event as we look forward to our Christmas light switch on.”
Over 90 stores are located in 380,000 sq ft of retail area; Merseyway is currently investing in activity designed to attract new retailers and continuing its investment in attracting visitors to Stockport.
Established in 1965, and built on giant arches above the river Mersey, Merseyway was one of the first shopping centres to open in the UK. In 1995 the centre underwent an extensive refurbishment and is anchored by Marks and Spencer, Debenhams, BHS and most recently Primark, amongst a wide range of other national multiple retailers including Boots, Specsavers, Topshop, Next etc.
