Stockport’s £1bn programme of investment is shaping the face of a new town centre.
Some projects have already come to fruition including The Mailbox where the former sorting office has been transformed into 117 rental apartments providing homes in the heart of the town centre. Stockport’s new Transport Interchange incorporating a new 2-acre park and nearly 200 homes will be completed Spring 2024 while an exciting pipeline of commercial and residential schemes are underway or being planned that will define and deliver a sustainable Stockport where current and future generations can thrive.
Paul Richards, Director of Regeneration and Development at Stockport Council and CEO of Stockport Mayoral Development Corporation, recently provided an update on regen projects to an invited audience of town centre-based businesses, local commercial agents and landlords and key stakeholders & Partners, showcasing Stockport’s achievements.
