
Stockport’s Digital Business Network will meet in October to discuss what artificial intelligence (AI) will mean for businesses in the borough.
The latest meeting of the network offers the opportunity for digital sector businesses in Stockport meet for discussion and networking, with guest speakers joining from Microsoft and the University of Salford.
This is a free event sponsored by Stockport MBC on Friday 13 October 2023 (11.00am to 1.30pm) at The Light Cinema in Stockport town centre.
Speakers confirmed for the event include:
- Marie Hamilton (Microsoft Greater Manchester Region Lead, Stockport resident and Digital Network Chair) leads this digital tech event with the latest news and insights from around the region.
- Naomi Timperley, who will be talking about Merseyway Innovation Centre and her role there as Innovation Director, ahead of the optional tour of the town centre’s newest business space with her and Rob Kates and Gordana Maljkovic at the end of the digital event.
- Ross Milhench (Microsoft) – AI in Action. Ross will talk us through the latest technology enhancements, bust a few myths and talk about what this means for your business.
- Professor Mo Saraee (the University of Salford) – Business Success Story. Ever wondered how AI translates into tangible business success? Mo will share real-world stories of companies that have embraced AI to transform their business.
- Stephen Slater (GC Business Growth Hub for the University of Salford Business Innovation Services) with Katherine Barr and Richard Magennis (the University of Salford) – Unlocking Digital Innovation Business Support Services. Navigating the digital innovation landscape can be daunting, but not when you have Stephen, Katherine, and Richard on hand to help guide you through the available business support services.
The event will also give attendees to put questions to speakers and share any relevant digital business news, information, or upcoming events with the network group, before business networking over a light buffet lunch.
Doors open at 11am for registrations and refreshments. Talks start at 11.30am. Business networking and buffet lunch around 12.30pm. Attendees will also be able to participate in an optional tour of the newly opened Merseyway Innovation Centre at 1.30pm.
