Local charity, ‘Stockport without Abuse’ has set a target and hoping to raise £700 to fund the ‘Survivor’s Voice’ programme.
Stockport Without Abuse is a local charity which provides specialist support to keep people safe, increase resilience and to get the help they need to change their lives. 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men are affected by domestic abuse at some point in their lives yet many victims feel unable to report abuse for fear of becoming homeless, being separated from their children or living in poverty.
Survivors of abuse tell us that they want to shout from the rooftops that you really can get through the devastating effects of domestic abuse. This is a very powerful source of support and we need to ensure that the survivors are trained in such aspects as health & safety, boundaries and confidentiality. We want to raise funds to develop an e-learning package so that survivors can complete the training where they feel comfortable and at their own pace.
We can then all make a really positive difference to the victims who really need us.
Donations are gratefully received; you can make a difference – pledge here
