One of Stockport’s best kept secrets is that Stockport College also has a University Centre where students can study Higher Education courses and graduate with a degree validated by world class universities!
The University Centre has years of success behind it and a wealth of highly qualified staff teaching across 3 different schools: Arts, Design & Media; Education & Applied Social Science; and Science, Engineering, Computing & Construction.
The degree programmes are all studied at the centre, situated within the main Stockport College campus in the heart of Stockport, but are validated by world class local universities including Manchester Metropolitan (MMU), Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), University of Central Lancashire (Uclan) and the University of Chester.
Stockport University Centre is UK Quality Assured, and was awarded the highest grade from their Integrated Quality Enhancement Review (IQER) of confidence in the centre.
This is the Higher Education equivalent of an Ofsted inspection, and shows the high standard of courses on offer. So good was the outcome that one of the commendations from the review was nationally recognised and resulted in the centre hosting a national workshop to spread the good practice.

For example: 64% of BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies graduates were awarded 2:1 or above.
