Stockport is preparing to serve up a feast of a 3-day Food & Drink Festival across Stockport town centre from 3rd to 5th September 2021
On Friday, over 30 food and drink stalls will be popping up across the town centre to tempt the most discerning of taste buds with food and drink from all around the world.
There’ll be fun and entertainment for all the family in Merseyway where, as well as the fantastic stalls, you can Spin to Win and have fun at the beach!
Live celebrity chefs and guests take to the weekend stage
On Saturday and Sunday, the festival comes alive featuring 2 outdoor kitchens in Mersey Square and in the Market Place where celebrity chefs Aldo Zilli and Jean Christophe Novelli will perform cooking demos as they rustle up some favourite recipes that will have your mouth watering. You can learn how great food happens – follow the adventures of food and science with BBC’s Stefan Gates.
Stockport’s own Britain’s Got Talent mixologist Neil Garner will be shaking up a few cocktails and Stockport’s newest chef de patron, Marc Mole, will be teasing the crowds as he prepares to open Bistro Marc at Winters on Underbank.
Workshops from award-winning Where The Light Gets In
Over on Suffragette Square, the team from Where The Light Gets In’s urban kitchen garden The Landing, will be running a series of activities throughout the weekend including a plants and pollinator’s workshop and lessons in foraging. The Plastic Shed will be holding lessons on how to make perfect plant pots using reclaimed pots; and learn from the experts at Cheshire Wildlife Trust.
Stockport’s hospitality offering is growing as more and more independents choose to open their businesses here. Throughout the festival, you’ll have a chance to pop in and check out some of the great new venues and meet some of Stockport’s own highly skilled chefs.
For the children, the ever-popular Mr Bloom will be performing at Stockport’s iconic Plaza on Sunday morning – tickets heavily subsided. Book at The Plaza website.
With pop-up entertainment at the Peel Centre, Stockport Market Place is back with a bang as your favourite events venue. Alongside the fabulous eateries, bars, market traders and independent business in Market Place, an extravaganza of independent businesses specialising in local food, drinks, arts and crafts will delight.
The gentle giants, Robinsons Shire Horses, will be popping into their local – The Baker’s Vaults and the Red Bull. Come along and say hello to these beautiful horses. With a kids play area, entertainment, music and the Market Place’s inaugural Twilight Market open until 9pm on Saturday, Stockport Market Place is a great choice, from dusk ‘till dawn.
