Stockport Council is backing the 2014 United Nations (UN) International Day of Peace this Sunday, on 21st September.
The United Nations’ (UN) International Day of Peace is celebrated on September 21 each year to recognize the efforts of those who have worked hard to end conflict and promote peace. The International Day of Peace is also a day of ceasefire – personal or political.
Councillor Sue Derbyshire, The Leader of Stockport Council, said:
“The UN International Day of Peace is a time for the world to pause, reflect and consider how best to break the vicious cycle of violence that conflict creates.”
