Solar energy company, Project Solar UK, have reaffirmed their relationship with local club Stockport County, agreeing to a year-long tie-up.
The Project Solar UK name and logo is being projected onto the centre circle at Edgeley Park ahead of each home match in the league. The current season has seen matches move to digital platforms, and the Stockport solar energy firm will, along with other sponsors, also be featured in streams of matches on the Hatters website.
The support from the Houldsworth Mill-based firm entitles them to personal sponsorship of four players, their own advertising perimeter board featuring the distinctive Project Solar UK branding alongside a dedicated Project Solar Day match sponsorship which will be scheduled towards the end of the season.
The solar panel installers had previously sponsored the away kit since 2018 and have since upgraded their investment in the club; the company directors and a number of the 130 strong staff team are dedicated Stockport County fans.
Simon Peat, managing director of Project Solar UK, said,
“As a lifelong County fan, it is rewarding to be in a position with the company to sponsor my favourite team. Associating our name with a spirited club such as the Hatters cements our place in this community as a local employer with a passion for the club. We are delighted to sponsor and support Stockport County and are hoping for a great second half to this season.”
Olivia Hanvey, Head of Commercial and Ticketing at Stockport County FC, added,
“We welcome the support of this local employer who have brought commercial investment and true passion to this community club. Simon and the Project Solar UK team recognise the vital role the Hatters play here in the town and their desire to associate their brand with the club is inspiring. Together we’ll make a great team as we forge ahead with a season like no other.”
In addition to their support for the Hatters, Project Solar UK are sponsors of community football teams including at Stockport Vikings.
